Meet the People Behind Wikifund
Helen Maynard- Hill – WIkifund Director
Helen is an experienced fundraising and marketing professional with over sixteen years’ experience working within the not for profit sector both in the UK and the Netherlands.
Over the last sixteen years Helen has worked for a number of not-for-profit organisations in the UK and the Netherlands.
After re-locating to the Netherlands almost 10 years ago, Helen continued to work in the not-for-profit sector engaging in marketing, business development and corporate liaison roles before starting IFC Netherlands five years ago. The consultancy has continued to grow in numbers of Associates, clients and reputation. Helen enthusiasm for the sector makes her driven to continue help Dutch charities and Social enterprises to move forward and expand their horizons to explore opportunities.
Helen’s motivation for starting Wikifund –
“I believe collectively we can achieve more. On a global scale the impact of collective knowledge sharing could change the world! Wikifund is a small step in the right direction to do it better”.
Kathryn Wuisman – Manager
Kathryn first became involved with IFC back in 2015 when she did a summer internship working for Helen Maynard-Hill. During this time Kathryn started working on the Wikifund project and continued helping the team while finishing her Bachelor Degree in Communication and Media. Now a Postgraduate student based in Scotland, Kathryn has remained involved with Wikifund, supporting the team in setting up and maintaining the website.
Kathryn’s motivation for being involved with Wikifund-
“I believe Wikifund will be a great contribution to the field and feel honoured to be part of the great team behind the project. I look forward to seeing Wikifund reach it’s goal of becoming THE online community for sharing fundraising knowledge.”
John Baguley – Concept Owner
Wikifund is the concept of John Baguley, the International Fundraising Consultancy (IFC) CEO.
John Baguley is an experienced management and fundraising consultant, and CEO of the International Fundraising Consultancy; He is the author of “Successful Fundraising” a comprehensive guide to fundraising published in English and Russian. He has written extensively on fundraising, lectured and worked in all parts of the world.
John is a former Fundraising Director at Amnesty International UK, Friends of the Earth and the Medical Foundation. He has worked for Oxfam and other international development organisations. He has also served on the boards of various NFPs and is a member of the Institute of Fundraising Ukraine. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Fundraising UK and past Chair of its Consultants Group. He is a member of EUConsult and a member of the Global Thinkers Forum’s Global Growth Board.
John was the first Director of International Fundraising for Amnesty’s International Secretariat, and the first Director of the Soil Association. He has extensive overseas experience, and has a PhD in the international development of NGOs published by VDM Verlag.
John has lectured at fundraising workshops and conferences in the UK, US, Canada, Italy, Holland, India, Nepal, Philippines, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Ukraine, Rusia, Kazakhstan and helped organisations raise funds in the US, South America, Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, Central Asia and Western Europe.
He is an experienced and accomplished management and fundraising consultant, director, speaker and trainer with an entrepreneurial flair.
John’s motivation for being involved with Wikifund-

Keiron Brand – Business Manager
After finishing his Finance degree Keiron joined the Shell Graduate Recruitment Program and performed many functions within Shell South Africa as well as Europe. These roles included Pricing Strategy, SAP Rollouts, Change Management and many process optimisation roles.
Throughout his career he has been involved in many upliftment projects such as teaching 10 to 11 year olds Mathematics, Economics and Science in Dobsonville, an area in Soweto. Disaster Relief, Social upliftment and Environmental activities remains a passion of his.
